Topic: The Single-cell Pediatric Cancer Atlas: building data resources for reuse in rare cancers
Speaker: Jaclyn N. Taroni, PhD
Director, Childhood Cancer Data Lab
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
Abstract: Individual pediatric cancers are rare diseases. Data resources that aggregate samples from multiple institutions are a force multiplier. Using the Single-cell Pediatric Cancer Atlas as the primary example, I'll describe how the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Childhood Cancer Data Lab builds with reuse as a design goal and the science it yields. Lessons around processing, curation, and reuse will be broadly applicable to rare disease communities trying to build data resources and infrastructure.
